You somehow manage it all and having to deal with the “kosher” piece of it cannot be easy. Everyone is still raving about the food. They loved it! Every event just came together so nicely. I brought the leftover chocolate covered strawberries to work for lunch today. Yummy, they are the best in town! Thank you again, it was a real pleasure working with you and your team. Burns & McDonnell wants to give a huge round of applause to Catering by Scott and his staff for a tremendous job done. Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. has a reputation for outstanding client functions following the APWA Congress and Expo Events. Catering by Scott “hit the nail on the head” with the cocktail reception on the Santa Maria. The event was flawless thanks to the timeliness, care and communication by all staff. As I was not able to travel to Columbus prior to the event, I relied heavily on the ideas and knowledge of Scott. Scott helped me to select local breweries and wineries to showcase at the bar. During the event prep, the staff never hesitated to ask me a question or opinion, as I sat back and watched it unfold. I could not have imagined a better set up for food and drink on the ship. Since returning to KC, I have heard nothing but great things from all the Burns & McDonnell staff and clients regarding the food, especially the antipasto skewers and spanakopita!
Lastly, Nicki, the lead caterer of the night was tremendous. She never missed a beat, had everything ready to serve on time, and kept things moving throughout the evening. She demonstrated the dedication to go the extra mile that all of the Catering by Scott staff exude.

Thank you so much for the wonderful job you and your staff did for Emily’s Bat Mitzvah. People and calling and raving about the food and the preparation as well as how beautifully it was displayed. No one went hungry at this event! I had comments that they never tasted smoked fish and smoked salmon this good in this part of the country! Our friends and family were so impressed with your attention to every detail and you made the day so easy for us from the planning of the luncheon for 500 to the execution of the final product.

We often receive letters like this from our clients after a busy weekend. These are always so nice to read. Mr. and Mrs Katz, we thank you, and it was our pleasure to make your special weekend so memorable.

Thank you so much for catering Jacob and Shira’s B’nai Mitzvah weekend extravaganza! In planning for this momentous occasion I had interviewed four different catering companies and at our first meeting you made me feel very comfortable and I felt confident that you would take care of EVERYTHING. Having four different events to host throughout the weekend we knew there would be countless details to cover. I loved how you helped me coordinate and help with other people I needed to hire such as the tent company, etc. Your ideas and direction with menus made decisions easy for me. Having someone who does this everyday gave me comfort to focus on all the other details of my event.
About a week before the event, the time we spent together planning the final details was fun. We discussed all the fine details and I again felt so glad that we had chosen Catering by Scott.
Having the opportunity the day before the event to meet some of the staff that I would be working with for the entire weekend was great. The continuity of the weekend was effortless with your staff, they were fabulous! Discreet, personable, polite, helpful, considerate and definitely at our service. I enjoyed having the same staff throughout the whole weekend.
Arrive the Friday night dinner and the rain, tornado warning and cold did not stop the staff from eloquently preparing, presenting, and serving the food. The staff coordinated several different elements of passed food, sit down served soup and a buffet with stir fry to order which was delicious. Since my family and community home baked all the desserts, the staff trayed up the desserts beautifully as they did all weekend. My family was thrilled.
Saturday at Temple was a delicious. No detail was missed. Your staff worked behind the scenes to make the kiddush fabulous. The presentation was beautiful.
Then came the event that made working with you one of the best decisions ever. Since we had so much rain and my tented backyard was flooded, we had to CHANGE venues for the Saturday night party. In between the kiddush that finished up around 2pm and the start time of 6:30pm, the staff orchestrated a move of everything from my home to the Temple, all the catering equipment, drinks, desserts, party favors, etc. The floor plan for the event had to be redone and the setup had to be rethought out. Again, the staff made it seem effortless!!!! The event was a blast! Everyone was kvelling about the food. Even though the event location had been changed, it seemed like this was the original location of the party. After the party was over, the staff helped to schlep all the stuff back to my house for the next morning brunch, including leftover party favors and food from both events at the temple–they made it so easy on me.
Sunday brunch, was a beautiful day, we were able to have it in the backyard. The staff’s setup of the tables made it feel like we were in an outside bistro. My guests loved the made to order omelet bar and fresh pancakes. As it was throughout the weekend the fruit displays were spectacular and flavorful. Everyone was oohing and ahhing about the whole weekend…in one of the thank you emails I received they said “the food was divine”. Since some of my family had to leave early, the staff helped by packing up care packages of food for their rides out of state. When the last event was completed I couldn’t believe the whole weekend was over and I had to hug all the staff and thank them so much for making my family celebration so wonderful!
I would really love to reccommend you to anyone who hosts an event. I felt lucky to have you for the multievent gatherings and would be happy to speak to any prospective clients as a referral. Since these are our only children, my husband and I are trying to figure out what kind of event we can host again using Catering by Scott since we enjoyed our weekend so much.
